Frequently Asked Questions

Do the bed sheets need ironing? We recommend that the 100% cotton sheets be lightly ironed to give the best look and feel. The cotton-polyester blend sheets are wrinkle resistant, thus should be immediately folded when dry. If using a dryer, dry on a low heat cycle. Hanging sheets to dry is the best.

Can bleach be used on the sheets and do the colors run? We recommend washing all sheets separately on purchase and after in cold water on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent.  Add the sheets after water and detergent are mixed. The colored sheets may run a little on first washing.  Bleach should not be used on sheets.

Do the sheets pill? (Pilling is loose or broken fibers turning into little balls on the fabric after washing). Pilling is usually the result of improper care of quality bed sheets. Improper care can be defined as exposure to harsh chemicals, abrasion or too much high heat.We proper care and treatment, our sheets do not pill. Customers report having sheets for five years that still look like new.

Are the 100% cotton sheets hot? If you're looking for that cool, soft feel, nothing beats 100 % cotton. You'll hardly ever wake up clammy on cotton sheets, since the fiber takes moisture away from your skin. And cotton sheets are less likely to stain than polyester blends; a water-loving fiber,  cotton releases dirt easily when wet. Our 300 thread count long-fiber cotton makes for a noticeably softer sheet.

What do you mean by "GM" when describing the towels and "GSM"? "GM" is the weight in grams of one towel while "GSM" - short for “grams per square meter” which is a standard number by which toweling fabrics are measured. The higher a fabric’s GSM, the denser, and therefore more absorbent, the fabric will be.The better quality towels have a GSM of at least 500. Our high-quality bath and hand towels 100% cotton tend toward the heavier side (600+), making them extremely soft and absorbent.

What do you mean by "double loop" when describing the towels? When choosing a towel, another component to consider is the pile, also known as the loops of the towel. Whether or not your towel is single loop or double loop will affect its absorbency.

Both single loop and double loop towels are highly absorbent, but single loop dries a bit faster. That’s partly why single loop is the most common type of towel construction. On the other hand, double loop towels are more dense and feel more luxurious to the touch.

Can bleach be used on the towels and do the colors run? We recommend washing all towels on purchase and after separately in warm water (around body temperature is best) - but use a little less detergent than suggested on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent.  Add the towels after water and detergent are mixed. Avoid fabric softeners—they contain silicon that will make the towels water repellent. The colored towels may run a little on first washing and colored towels should always be washed separately from the white towels.  Bleach should not be used on colored towels. You can use bleach on white towels but mix the bleach with water well before adding the towels and use sparingly as bleach damages the fiber.

While tumble drying will make the towel fluffy, do not overdo, as the heat from the dryer can damage the integrity of the cotton. We recommend using a lower heat setting occasionally or alternate between air and heat drying.

Do the towels drop lint? Cotton is a natural fiber and new towels will shed some loose fibers.

Can the pillows be washed and will they flatten?  The Soffill synthetic pillows’ often called ‘fiber fill,’ are washable. Repeated washing can damage, flatten and distort the shape. The Latex foam pillow retains its shape perfectly after washing. As latex foam is very delicate, it has to be carefully handled therefore we only recommend hand wash.

Why are the latex foam pillows more costly than the fiber filled?  Latex foam pillows conform to your head and neck for ideal comfort and support, offering effective pressure relief. They are hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, mildew proof and dust mite resistant.  It is a very long lasting natural material that holds its shape well over time. Latex foam is cooler, lighter and more airy than memory foam. They are costly because of their quality and longevity. With proper care a latex pillow should last for at least 5-7 years.
